THE OLD HOLLIS INN IN MARENGO, IA
We will be setting out in about an hour for an investigation of the Old Hollis Inn in Marengo, IA. I will continue this article with evidence if I can find some internet access there.
Ok so we got back yesterday. This place is a paranormal investigators dream come true. I would like to personally thank Jeralynn and Adam for allowing us to do this investigation at a price our group could afford.
Jeff and I were the first to arrive and were given a tour and history of the home. The downstairs consists of the Doctors office, entryway with closet and staircase to second floor, parlor, dining room and kitchen, with servants staircase. After Jeralynn left it was just Jeff and I in the house. Jeff was upstairs setting up cams and I was in the dining room. I have seen shadow people before but never a full bodied apparition. Friday I saw my first full bodied apparition, I was in the dining room looking towards the hallway to the front door. Suddenly I see this silver haired man in a vest, white shirt, with a pocket watch appear just outside the doctors office. It was enough time for me to see the detail and then it disappeared! At first I was wondering what the man was doing there since the hosts had left the building!
My impression was that he was checking me out, he was wondering why all these people keep coming there to ask him questions. So after that I decided to set up recorders telling the people that they could ask me a question first, as soon as I listened to the recorders I would answer then. We still have many, many hours of recordings and tape to go through, but after telling them to ask me something, on one tape I have a male voice asking me "How was your day?"
We also had several personal experiences. In the doctors bedroom I stated that we would leave if he just gave us a sign. LOL He then turned my camcorder to not record, I still had plenty of battery and plenty of tape left, it just was not recording anymore. I then said "Really? you need to do better than that".
Then our motion sensor at the end of the hall went off! I tried to debunk it with flainling my arms, leaning over, and going to the doorway to try and set it off again. Yep you guessed it. It did not light up, After asking if he wanted us to leave the room our sensitives picked up "yes i am tired and it was not proper for ladies to be in him sleeping quarters, we asked him to let us know and the motion sensor went off twice. So we kept our promise and left.
The following day we followed the same routine. This time we went into the basement.

I have added several new EVPS from the site also. After the basement we all took a break outside. I left the voice recorder running on the kitchen table. When listening to it after we got home, there is a child's voice saying "I've been away".
Next we ventured into the doc's room. The three investigators were all sitting against an outside wall and kept hearing something "running". Lead Investigator Bren went down the stairs and outside. What she heard was a neighbors central air conditioning unit running. On her way back upstairs suddenly the window air unit in the room turned on! I had turned it to the off position prior to starting the session. On the recorder I hear myself saying "How did that turn on? I had it turned off! Turn it to the off position. Following that I hear a man's voice saying"bitch". I think whoever was there thought they could scare the 4 girls out of the room lol. Nope it didn't work.
